The final four contestants stand in the Weigh-In Room for the very last time – this is the moment of truth, the point where one person leaves and the remaining three rush headlong to the finale.
Ajay welcomes them to the last weigh-in before the finale. She says that more than 12 weeks ago, they had set out on a mission to change their lives. Now, they are just one weigh in away from finale with the dreaded Yellow Line the only thing standing in their way. After winning Ultimate Immunity, Alison is safe from elimination unless she gains weight. Alison feels like she’s only lost a small number this week, but as long as it’s weight-loss not weight-gain. Ajay calls her down to face the scales one last time. Alison takes her final steps down the catwalk to the scales she knows all too well.
The screen flickers – 79.3 kg, a loss of only 0.6 kg! Alison has survived by the skin of her teeth! But a loss is a loss and Ajay announces that she is officially into the finale. The next person up is Sam – he says that his first goal is to weigh in less than 100 kg. He’s transformed himself from a morbidly obese person to a normal person and that’s all he’s really wanted. He climbs up onto the scales and the screen flickers – 97.8 kg, a loss of 2.2 kg. Ajay asks if he feels his result is enough to get below the Yellow Line. Sam says that the odds aren’t in his favour with Kirsten and Garry still to weigh in.
Kirsten is up next and for her to stay safe above the Yellow Line she needs to lose at least 1.9 kg. Sam thinks that his ride is over – Kirsten is more than capable of losing 1.9 kg. Kirsten was feeling quietly confident – she had trained hard the whole week. She says that her original goal was to reach 85 kg, and she’s beaten that personal goal already - now it’s all about getting above the Yellow Line. She steps up onto the scales for the last time and weighs in at 81.5 kg – a loss of only 1.7 kg, just 200 grams shy of the number she needs to be safe.
It’s time for Garry to weigh in. To beat Sam he needs to lose a least 3.2 kg. Garry is adamant that if he falls below the Yellow Line then he is history. Garry’s focus when he first stepped foot into the White House was to gain his father’s respect. On his journey to make his father proud he’s found things within himself that he’s never seen before, and he is definitely proud of his own achievements. Garry steps up on the scales, and the screen flickers – 140.1 kg, a loss of 1.3 kg. Garry’s fate, as he knows it, is sealed. Alison says that she feels for Garry – he’s completely transformed his life for the better, and to only miss out by a couple of grams would be devastating.
Ajay announces that Sam is now officially into the final, as is Alison. Kirsten and Garry must now face elimination and vie for the final stop at the finale. It’s now up to Sam and Alison to determine which of the two will stand along side them at the end.
The contestants leave the Weigh-In Room for the last time. Kirsten says that she’s never sure about Elimination – many things can change people’s minds. Alison says that it’s a sad situation – just really, really sad. Out in the den, Kirsten tells Garry that it’s never over until the vote is cast. Garry leaves the three ex-Blues to mull over the weigh-in, and goes into his room to clear his head.
Garry gets to his room, lies on his bed and closes his eyes. The big man known for his roar has been silenced. But as things began to clear in his mind Garry knew that he’s no long the man who would stay silent, who would let adversity get him down. He will fight for his spot and he will go out fighting. He’s not too sure about Alison changing her mind, but Sam would be his best bet to get a Hung Vote.
It’s come time for everyone to make their decision and to write either Kirsten’s name or Garry’s name on a card. This would be the last time they ever do this weekly ritual. Ajay welcomes them to the final elimination – their last stop before the finale. However, there is still a difficult decision to be made: Garry or Kirsten. Ajay says to each of them that they have done a tremendous job of getting to this point. Ajay says that the tight bond between Alison, Sam and Kirsten has seen Kirsten through to this stage of the game, but Kirsten is quick to say that anything can happen. Garry says that Sam owes him a favour, but if he were to vote the other way he will not hold it against him.
For the very last time, Ajay announces “It’s time to cut the fat”. Alison is up first, and says that voting today has been very difficult in the sense that everyone around the table has been deserving of their spot. The decision for her is one that is upsetting for her to do, because the person she has to vote for she entered through the gates with that first day, and have spent the entire journey with. The only fault she can give the person she has voted for is that they have come against a person whose name she can never write on a card. Alison lifts her platter lid to reveal Garry’s name.
It’s now up to Sam. He wants to point out that he’s in a very horrible spot to be in. Looking at where they are at the moment, he knows he needs to think about himself, and what’s best for him. He sees Kirsten, who is closets to him on the leader board, and then there’s Garry who’s always been a dark horse but has so much potential. Both of them are a threat in his eyes. Sam says he needs to look at the situation in terms of team loyalty, and as much as it pains him to do so, he’s made his decision. He lifts the platter lid to reveal Garry’s name.
With that Garry is eliminated from the game. He’s devastated but at the same time looking forward to seeing his family, especially his mother. Garry says that he’s proud of himself, and he’s sure his father is proud of him too. He says his goodbyes to the Final 3, and leaves with an almighty Garry-roar for the last time. This is it – Alison, Sam and Kirsten are the Final 3 heading into the finale…
